This week was a super busy week for both Paul and me. I feel bad because Dane was neglected. Ok, not totally, but normally I don't have to do a lot of work when I get home but these next couple of weeks are going to be busy as I'm working on getting the magazine ready to print.
I was going to post pics of this week but we were so busy, we didn't even take one. The only adventure this week was when i tried to go to the gym. I'm trying to rededicate myself and start working out more. I dropped Dane off at the gym daycare and after 10 minutes one of the girls had to get me because Dane had been screaming the whole time. it was the saddest sight. I walked in and he had tear-stained cheeks, runny nose, and had the hyperventaling type cry. He was shaking as they gave him to me. I figure he reacted that way since he'd never been there. And to top of the experience, the next day Dane woke up with a runny nose and has had a cold ever since. Poor kid.

daddy daycare
So, this week was the first full week that Paul has watched Dane in about a month. Since he'd been so sick I was taking Dane to different family and friends to help out. Paul does an amazing job with Dane but sometimes I have to turn a blind eye to some things he does. When he watches Dane, he'll do things different than I would normally do, and I just have to accept that and not criticize or tell him what to do, just as I don't want him to tell me how to parent. Here are a few photos of things Paul does with Dane while i'm not around.
Yep - that's a banana peel my son is chewing! Paul called me at work, so proud of himself for doing this, and knowing that i wouldn't approve but since I was at work there was nothing i could do about it. When I asked him why he did it, he responded "Well, every morning a have a banana and Dane always reaches for it. So today I decided to give it to him." I guess he likes it! Gross!
Like father like son. He is already getting a strong attachment to the remote.
My kids, just hangin out on my bed.

dane's girlfriend
This week I met up with a couple different friends who have little girls. Dane actually loves to be around other babies. I think it's because they are more his size and it doesn't hurt when they are cute little girls too. (The pic of Sierra and Dane didn't turn out. Kristin, will you send me a copy of yours?)
i like to call this pic 'love at first sight'. Oh, Sweet Suzy Jane! Nicole, we need to get together more often now that the weather is better!

g'ma and g'pa barlow visit
Paul's parents came to visit this week (Thursday thru Sunday). It was great to have time around and Dane was glad to have new faces to play with. The only down fall was Dane's teeth were really bothering him so he was really fussy! And to top it off, he was full of gas. I think the video and photos will speak for themselves!
While the Barlow's were here we also had dinner with Paul's grandparents. I wanted to get another one of the 4 generations. You can never have too many, and Dane was in a great mood so it was perfect! Cute smiles, my boy!

spring is here
Dane has also decided to become more mobile. I put him on his play mat, went to get a bowl of cereal, and when I came back, this is where I found him. I guess we'll have to start to baby-proof the house soon.
Well - in typical Utah fashion, it snowed and hit almost 70 all in the same week. We took advantage of the nice spring day and took Dane to the park. He LOVES the swing, can you tell? oh, we are so grateful for good weather and summer just around the corner.

6 months!
I'm horrible about doing anything on time! Dane was 6 months on March 26th - and here it is almost 2 weeks later! Oh dear.
We recently got his pictures taken. I love my photographer so anyone looking for great pics for your kids, check out her site at www.saraboulterphotography.com. And for a couple more pics of his shoot you can go to her blog http://saraboulterphotography.blogspot.com.
Since he turned 6 months (only 2 weeks ago) he has already done so much. Last friday he finally rolled onto his stomach from his back. And then on Sunday night one of his bottom teeth poked through. Most moms would be excited about this milestone, but not me. I was hoping it wouldn't happen for another few months (and i think other breastfeeding moms would agree!)
Dane also started to eat veggies - he loves green beans and peas. Carrots are not his friend - fierce gas pains await so we'll hold off on those.
Here are the numbers on Dane at 6 months:
1. weight 16lbs 4oz
2. height 25 1/2 inches
3. 1100+ diapers
4. 3000+ wipes
5. -20 times peed on mom
6. 1 - Pooped on mom
7. 13500+ number of kisses received from mom and dad
8. 15 – nights without waking up
9. 145 – nights with one or more times of waking up mom
10. 3 times threw up so bad mom had to change her clothes and shower
11. 15 shots
12. 7 doctors visits
13. 3 naps a day (3-4 hours total)
14. 12 hours sleeping at night
15. 1 plane ride
16. 6 – weeks on solid food
17. 3000 smiles
18. 240 hours of daddy/son bonding time
19. 2 dimples
20. 15, 552,000 – every second that Dane brings joy to our home
Enjoy these pictures.
We love you, Dane!!!
